Travel, Travelling and mental wealth being. (Part 1)

Typically, when we think of travelling, we usually think of an elaborate trip outside the country…*in the abroad kind of things*. This is not a problem though if you can afford it or if it was already a part of your mental wealth budget.

Mental wealth speaks to abundance of goodness, so please do not put extra pressure on your purse to travel out. Having said that, there are many budget-friendly options in the country.

Personally, travelling excites me, I think about the journey – of course,  I am not driving, I think about the sights and sounds on the way, even if they are just trees; like on my way to Enugu (South East, Nigeria) or rocks on my way to Ado Ekiti (Western Nigeria). Let me confess, I think of the food and most importantly, the people, I will meet and connect with,  Mental wealth speaks to abundance of goodness, so please do not put extra pressure on your purse to travel out. Having said that, there are many budget-friendly options in the country.

I got the chance to visit Ibadan, Debrecen, and Agbara for various reasons, and I’ll be sure to include sights and sounds as well as my experiences.

I will start with my trip to Ibadan. Aunty Titi of the Curves and Edges (@ thecurvesandedges) and I  had planned this Ibadan trip photoshoot to kick start one of my buckets dreams of becoming a plus-size model, while I fight off this acquired weight of mine…lol. We visited amala Skye in Ibadan, gan gan,   IITA, and planned to go to my Dad’s hostel melimbu Hall in the University of Ibadan (we didn’t get to see the hostel,  though).  We had so much fun, that aunty Titi was laughing in her dream.

To top it all off, I took the train, and both the Awolowo Train Station in Ibadan and the Mobolaji Train Station in Lagos astonished me with their cleanliness and orderliness. Additionally, the personnel was quite polite. I met the c e o, a modest and exceptional young Nigerian photographer. Check out his Instagram at @the.c e o. His creations are more enjoyable. when experienced firsthand.

Let’s get back to our mental richness.

Travel enhances creativity and improves brain function. Learning about various cultures improves one’s capacity to switch back and forth between concepts, think more deeply, and integrate ideas.

Travel can cause mood swings, despair, anxiety, and out-of-character actions including violence, suicidal thoughts, and excessive drug and alcohol use in certain people, or it might exacerbate the symptoms of those who already have a mental condition.

For me, the mere thought of a trip brings me joy.

Dopamine, a neurotransmitter that aids in regulating the brain’s reward and pleasure centres, is released when we anticipate engaging in something enjoyable.

Traveling rewires the brain, says, neuroscientists. This is so because developing new neural pathways in the brain requires new experiences. Our brains can be rewired to make us more imaginative and open to new concepts. Travel makes us happy because of this.

Traveling broadens our minds since we learn more when we encounter something novel, and this rule naturally holds true for all facets of life. Are you unsure of your ability to cope with the pressure and worry of travelling alone? Once you’ve done it a few times, you won’t ever doubt yourself again. Try it, remember, it can just be the next state to you.
